Welcome to the Next-Door Rental Community!
Our peer-to-peer platform is built on trust, respect, and kindness. If you embody these values, you’ll always be welcome at Next-Door Rental. Our goal is to give users full autonomy over their products within a community that values people and property equally. Everyone is treated with respect and held to the same standard. We ask that you be a good neighbor and follow these guidelines—both online and in person.
Community Policies
Violation of these policies may result in removal from the platform or legal action. Please report any behavior that violates these rules using our built-in Dispute Resolution tools.
How Person Ratings Work
A high personal rating reflects reliability and respect. If your rating drops below the city average, you may receive a notice with tips for improvement. Continued low ratings may lead to restricted access.
How Product Ratings Work
A high product rating means your item met or exceeded expectations. Accurate descriptions, timely communication, and proper upkeep help maintain strong feedback.
Next-Door Rental is NOT for:
Harassment, Threatening, and Rude Behavior
Aggressive or intimidating behavior is never acceptable. This includes gestures, language, or actions that could be perceived as disrespectful or threatening.
Hate Speech
Any content that promotes or condones racism, bigotry, hate, or violence against individuals or groups is strictly prohibited.
Discrimination
We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind—including toward users or staff—based on race, gender identity, age, disability, language, religion, or other protected statuses.
Physical Contact
Do not touch others without consent. Limited exceptions apply if someone requests physical assistance. Acts of violence are strictly prohibited and may be grounds for removal and further action.
Violence
Threats, coercion, and physical harm are never allowed. Graphic, violent, or gory content is also prohibited.
Sexual Assault and Misconduct
Unwanted sexual conduct is prohibited. This includes inappropriate questions, unsolicited comments, or gestures. Respect personal space and privacy.
Property Damage
Renters must care for all items as if they were their own. Refer to the Damage & Stolen Items policy for incident reporting and resolution procedures. Lenders may include a security deposit, which can be withheld if damage occurs.
Stolen Items
If theft is suspected, submit an Incident Report and include documentation such as a police report. NDR will cooperate with authorities to help recover the item.
Private Information
Do not share or request private information such as passwords, personal banking details, or private contact info. All transactions must remain within the Payment Process system.
Authenticity
Do not impersonate other individuals or businesses.
Do not list items you do not own or control.
We reserve the right to pursue legal action if platform misuse threatens community trust or safety.
Illegal Usage
If it’s illegal in your jurisdiction, it is not allowed on Next-Door Rental. To ensure compliance, consult the list of Prohibited Items.
Scamming
Fraudulent behavior is not tolerated. Never request or send money outside the platform. All payments must go through our verified Payment Process.
Minors
Users must be 18 or older to use Next-Door Rental. Unaccompanied minors may not participate in rentals or product exchanges.

Communication
Be clear, honest, and respectful in all platform messages.
Timely responses help prevent cancellations and missed rentals.
Transactions
Meet in public and safe locations.
Always inspect and document item condition at pickup and return.

Try resolving issues with the other party first. If that fails, submit a formal complaint through our Dispute Resolution system.

Report All Bad Behavior
From your app dashboard or inbox, use the “Report” button to file a confidential incident report.
All reports are reviewed under our Property Insurance and Refund and Cancellation Policy guidelines.
