At Next-Door Rental, we’ve designed the pick-up and return process to be smooth, secure, and verifiable. Every transaction is supported with geo-tagged, time-stamped photo documentation to protect both renters and lenders. These photos are submitted through the Current Requests section on the Transactions page in the app and verified by both parties.
For Renters
Use the App: Log in to the Next-Door Rental app on your mobile device.
Navigate to Current Requests: Open the Transactions page and tap into your Current Requests to manage active rentals.
Submit Photos: At both pick-up and return, take clear, geo-tagged, time-stamped photos of the item. Submit them through the in-app process during each phase.
Follow the Schedule: Be sure to pick up and return the item within the agreed rental period. Late returns may result in deposit forfeiture or penalties. Learn more in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
For Lenders
Log Into the App: Use your phone to access the app and view Current Requests under Transactions.
Verify Renter & Product: Confirm the renter’s identity and ensure you’re supplying the correct item.
Review Submitted Photos: Confirm that the photos submitted through the app accurately reflect the item’s condition at pick-up and again at return.
Document Carefully: This process supports any future claims. Refer to Damage & Stolen Items for guidance on how to proceed if an issue arises.
If a Renter Fails to Return the Product on Time
If a renter does not return the item by the agreed time:
Submit an Incident Report: File an incident through the app to potentially retain the security deposit.
Escalate if Needed: NDR will cooperate with authorities if legal action is required. For more, see our Dispute Resolution policy.
Best Practices
Meet in a safe, public location.
Ensure both parties are present with the app open during pick-up and return.
Keep all communication and confirmations in the app.
Use well-lit, clear photos from multiple angles for documentation.
