How does booking work?
Find an item, choose your dates, and send a request. Once the lender approves, you pay securely and arrange pickup. See Renting Basics.
Is it safe? How am I protected?
Every payment runs through Stripe — no cash changing hands — and chat stays on-platform with your contact info kept private. Lenders are paid only to bank accounts verified by Stripe, and geo-tagged photos document every hand-off. PIPEDA compliant.
What if the item is damaged while I have it?
Rentals with the Damage Protection added are backed up to $10,000, with a clear, fair dispute process. Some items may require a refundable security deposit, returned once you bring the item back in good shape. Read the No-Loophole Guarantee.
How do I pay, and can I rent for just a day?
You pay by card through Stripe once the lender accepts your request — by the hour, day, week or longer. Rent only for as long as you need; there’s no long-term commitment.
Do I need an account just to browse?
No — browse the whole marketplace freely. You only create an account when you’re ready to send a request, and no card is needed until the lender says yes.
What can I haul in a dump trailer?
Soil, gravel, sand, concrete, demolition and renovation debris, roofing tear-off, brush and yard waste, and general clean-out junk. Check the listing for the trailer’s weight limit and anything the host asks you to keep out (wet concrete, hazardous waste, etc.).
Do I need a special vehicle or hitch to tow it?
You’ll need a vehicle rated to tow the loaded weight, plus a standard 2″ ball hitch and a 7-pin connector. A half-ton pickup — and many mid-size SUVs for smaller loads — will do the job. Confirm your vehicle’s tow rating against the trailer’s specs with the host before you book.
How does the dumping work?
Dump trailers use a hydraulic lift — you raise the bed and the load tips out, no shovelling. The host shows you how the controls and battery work when you pick it up.
Where do I take the load, and are tipping fees included?
That’s up to you — most renters head to a Lambton County waste site or a landscape-supply yard. Disposal/tipping fees at the destination aren’t included in the rental. Bring the trailer back empty and swept out unless the host says otherwise.
