You must be 18 years of age or older to use Next-Door Rental. 

Account Sign-Up

You can browse and search for items without an account. However, to request or list a product, you’ll need to create an account and connect your bank account. This step is required for identity verification through our secure payment partner, Stripe.

Once verified, you can begin renting or lending items. Until then, you may still set up your profile and explore the platform.

Limitations Until Verification

To protect all users, verification is required before you can make or accept product requests. Verification includes connecting your bank account, which also enables secure payouts and deposits through Stripe. 

Dual Role: Lender and Renter

Yes — you can be both! Browse products as a Renter or click “Add an Item” in your profile to start lending. All users can explore the platform, but requesting and adding an item require verification.

Individual vs. Business Registration

Both individuals and businesses use the same secure payment process through Stripe. Businesses may add tax registration details, which will be reflected in the rental contract. For more on registering as a business, visit our Business Rental Guide.

Payment Information Security

All transactions are processed securely through Stripe.

• No credit card or banking information is stored on NDR servers.

• Stripe is PCI-compliant and uses 128-bit SSL encryption.

A temporary $1 authorization may appear when adding your payment method. This is a standard Stripe verification charge and will be automatically refunded.
